The Girls Varsity soccer program last week was very busy, they played three games in five days. They took two out of the three games, defeating Cilo and North Branch and losing to Kearsley.
They capped off the week with a thrilling 1-0 victory over North Branch on Friday, April 24.
Beth Downs got the lone goal of the game, giving the Wildcats momentum heading into the stretch drive of the Flint Metro League season.
On Wednesday, April 22, the day started out promising, but it quickly turned against the girls as the weather and the game didn’t go according to plan. During a bitterly cold game that saw long sleeve shirts and gloves come out, The Wildcats lost to Kearsley 2-0. The Cats gave up a goal 50 seconds before halftime, and Kearsley added an insurance goal midway through the second half.
The April 20 FML opener against Cilo was a success as the Wildcats blanked the Mustangs 2-0.
