Community members celebrated kids and learning on March 15, when TEAM SEPTA hosted their second annual ‘Bouquet of Miracles.?
The night featured dinner, dancing, entertainment by the Vibro-Kings, a silent auction and raffles.
‘Everyone is talking about the fun, presentation and top notch night,? said Lake Orion schools Interim Director of Special Education Julie Stucky of the dinner dance.
Fox 2 News personality Kerry Birmingham acted as the Mistress of Ceremony, and SEPTA President Tracy Gora thanked her for co-hosting the event.
‘Her flare, enthusiasm and belief in TEAM SEPTA of Lake Orion truly inspired us to continue to help make a difference in the lives of those who so richly deserve it,? she added.
Gora also thanked several individuals for their support, including six prominent supporters of the event: Dan Adams, Jim Daw and Michael Manza, of Kinko’s of Auburn Hills, for donating all the printing of the flyers, programs and brochures for the event; Ron Hines and Dan Schueren, of the Knights of Columbus, and Fr. Thomas R Carey, of Council #4764, for sponsoring the raffles and their pledge support in the future; American Legion ? Post 233 for their $1000 ‘Bed of Roses? Sponsorship; Patti Fleming, of Patricia’s Flowers By Design, for her donation of all the floral arrangements for the centerpieces; Mike Couchman and Larry Buss, of Jet’s of Lake Orion (M-24/Clarkston location), for donating pizza for the late night snack; and Richard Dwyer, of In the Garden, for donating handcrafted birdhouse for SEPTA’s large raffle, which he did for the second year in a row.
She noted that with today’s economy and budget cuts school districts are facing, TEAM SEPTA, the students, families and educators sincerely appreciate the continued community support.
‘Once again the community and surrounding areas showed their generous support and never ending commitment to helping students with developmental challenges and educators in the Lake Orion school district,? Gora said.
‘There are no words to truly express our gratitude for their support and generosity,? she added. ‘The support from these organizations and individuals was extremely overwhelming.?
