Sheriff’s Dept. releases video of crash

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is examining a serious-injury single motor vehicle crash that occurred just after midnight Thursday morning on southbound Joslyn Road, south of Judah Road.
A 19-year-old Lake Orion resident was driving a 2000 Lincoln Towncar when the vehicle lost control, drove up an embankment and rolled several times. The vehicle came to rest upside down.
Police video showed the teen pulled over momentarily, but then took off on the winding road with the deputy in pursuit.
After crossing the train tracks, the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Alcohol does appear to be a factor in the crash and the driver was not wearing her seatbelt, an OCSD report said.
She was transported to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where she underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition.
At press time, the crash was still under investigation.
