Atlas Twp.-The minimum lot size for township homes will remain at 3 acres rather than 5 acres in designated areas of the township following Tuesday’s election.
The rural estate district ballot proposal was rejected, 683-478 (59-41 percent) after a year-long emotional battle between supporters and detractors of the rezoning since the measure was adopted last February. In April, about 1,109 signatures of residents were submitted to the county to put the measure on Tuesday’s ballot.
