Science: A fair project

Goodrich-About 200 creations born from the minds of Oaktree Elementary School students were displayed last week at the school’s annual science fair.
Science teacher Jeff Stanton explained that each of the school’s 160 fifth graders are expected to complete an individual project, while fourth graders work in small groups on their experiments. Third graders submit a project created by the whole class.
The projects are ‘excellent,? said Stanton. ‘Every year we have really good, creative ideas. We’re shown something we’ve never seen before. They do a nice job.?
Students begin planning for the projects at the beginning of December, said Stanton.
Judging took place on Feb. 27, with winners selected in the categories of life, physical and earth sciences. Parents were invited to look at the entries Feb. 28.
