Atlas-Members of Atlas Community Baptist Church have a new place to worship.
At 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 27 at 9430 Perry Road in Atlas, The Point, a ministry of ACBC, had its inaugural service.
Jeannie Combs, Children’s Director and Family Worker for ACBC, says the crowd at that first service was estimated to be 950 people.
‘Sunday was totally, totally awesome,? says Combs. ‘We had such a spectacular day. We’re so thankful that we had a building that we could open up to the community.?
The 20,000 square foot building sits on 20 acres and cost about $3 million to build.
‘It’s a great community place where people can come together,? says Combs. ‘That’s the goal of our church, to reach bikers and (mud) boggers and just everyone.?
