It used to be when women wanted a rejuvenating face-lift they had to go under the knife or inject Botox into their skin.
Looks like doctors Christian Troy and Sean McNamara are out of a job.
The latest craze in the quest for perfect skin is Topical Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy ? the keyword being oxygen.
The application of oxygen under hyperbaric pressure allows the epidermis of the skin to maximize its oxygen surface level concentration, creating a more smooth, wrinkle free skin surface.
Oxford’s ReGina Paul Salon (52 S. Washington) now offers this service and was fortunate enough to have pop star Madonna’s personal oxygen treatment facialist, Michelle Peck, perform the therapy on eight of ReGina’s clients last Thursday night.
The pop diva attributes her flawless skin to the oxygen facial treatment and didn’t mind Peck sharing it with the public.
Peck starts the 30-minute oxygen treatment with a product from the O2 Intraceuticals Oxygen Treatment called Atoxlene, which is made up of hexapeptides and amino acids. The product is ‘infused? into the skin using a hyperbaric machine.
It is then followed by a rejuvenation serum containing Hyaluronic Acid, an ingredient found naturally in the skin, which Peck said ‘leaves the skin completely hydrated, plumped, glowing, tightened and lifted ready for the application of make-up.?
Reggie Smith, owner of ReGina Paul Salon, was so thrilled with the oxygen treatment Peck introduced to her that she has decided to offer it to her clients.
‘It’s an inexpensive, no needle, no knife alternative,? said Smith. ?(Clients) would rather do it if they knew they had the opportunity.?
