After losing two games to fall out of first place in the Flint Metro League two weeks ago, the Oxford Wildcats picked up two victories last week to remain in solid contention for the league title.
The Cats has to claw back to earn their victory on Friday, overcoming a 24-8 deficit after one quarter to stop Lapeer West, 68-63.
Oxford outscored the Panthers 39-20 in the second half to pick up the victory and stay entrenched in second place.
Brad Dugan led Oxford with 22 points while three other players also reached ouble-figures. Alan Willar netted 16 points, Tim Ketelhut scored 13 and Brandon Dugan added 11.
The victory improved Oxford’s record to 7-3 in the FML, which put them in second place with Fenton. Brandon leads the league with a 9-1 record.
In an earlier game, the Wildcats easily ran past Clio, 77-39.Ketelhut scored 23 points, Brandon Dugan collected 11 and Adam Peterson added 10 for the Wildcats.
