Cross country boys win regional, qualify seven for state

The Lake Orion boys cross country team are proving hard to beat, as they claimed the Division I regional on Oct. 29.
The Dragons scored 57 points to win, with Rob Shinouskis finishing in first place overall with a time of 15:51.
Teammate Drew Collette finished third (15:58), and Max Hock was 12th (16:30).
For the Lake Orion girls, who finished fourth in their regional with 113 points, Sara Lieblein had the team’s best finish, in ninth place (18:59).
Allie Hock rounded out the Lake Orion scoring in 12th place with a time of 19:11.
The state meet is Saturday at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
The Lake Orion boys qualified seven individuals: Collette, Hock, Jayson Lawton, Kyle Lawton, Doug Mack, Colin Motley and Shinouskis.
Hock and Lieblein qualified for the state meet for the girls team.
