Guilty plea in armed robbery case

One of two people arrested for the July 18 armed robbery of an Independence Township gas station pled guilty.
Appearing before Judge Steven Andrews in 6th District Court Sept. 21, Romell Lemoyne Goodson, 28, of Highland Park, pled guilty to one count of armed robbery and a sentence enhancement, said Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor David Williams.
According to Williams, the sentence enhancement recognizes Goodson as being ‘a habitual offender with two prior felonies,? meaning sentence guidelines will be higher. Goodson now faces from 9 to 22.5 years in prison, said Willliams.
The case involving the other person allegedly involved, Cierra Latriese Horn, 18, also of Highland Park, is still pending. She faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
The charges stem from the armed robbery of the Shell Service Station at the northwest corner of I-75 and Sashabaw Road around 3:28 a.m. The two allegedly held an employee at gunpoint while taking approximately $200 in various bills and quarters.
On July 24, Goodson was arrested after an anonymous tip helped police find him as he arrived at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Horn surrendered to Independence Township detectives at the OCSO Detective Bureau on July 25.
