On the heels of this year’s Good Times in Goodrich, Patty Plant is already making plans for next year’s event.
Plant, an Atlas Township resident who runs Cranberries Cafe, 10250 Hegel Road, Goodrich, was one of the organizers of this year’s Good Times in Goodrich, which returned to the area Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 after a three-year absence. The event was presented by the Goodrich-Atlas Chamber of Commerce.
She said the event went very well, even though she does not know how many showed up. She also said those in attendance sampled all the activities the festival had to offer.
‘It’s really hard to count the amount on a Saturday,? Plant said. ‘We didn’t have any way of tracking it. It was a good, steady crowd all day, and there was perfect weather.?
She said two of Saturday’s activities, the music in the park and the carnival games, were well-received. As far as Sunday’s activities are concerned, she said the live music and food tasting were also well-received.
In particular, Plant said the food tasting went well, considering it was the first time that event was held. She said there were about 150 people at the food tasting, sampling food from 10 local restaurants.
Plant said during this year’s festival, she was already thinking of ideas for next year’s Good Times in Goodrich.
‘The Chamber is looking forward to doing it again next year, making it bigger yet,? she said.
