Brandon’s girls soccer team had their struggles in Flint Metro League action April 6.
Not only did the host Blackhawks suffer a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fenton, Brandon also had to play the majority of the game without their starting goaltender.
After about eight minutes of action, the Blackhawks lost goalie Elizabeth Kennedy to injury, which meant sophomore Meg Donnay filled in for the Blackhawks the rest of the way.
‘She came in and did well for us,? Brandon coach Greg Back said.
Lyndsey Whitten scored the Blackhawks? lone goal of the game on an assist from Mikki Nuccio.
A day earlier in their season opener, the host Blackhawks battled to a scoreless tie with Frankenmuth.
‘We couldn’t generate any scoring opportunities, but the defenses did well for both teams,? Back said.
