Swimmers now look to OAA’s

Clarkston’s swim team had an up and down week to close out their season. The Wolves won a close match, 95-91, against Royal Oak on Feb. 8 but fell 135.5-49.5 to West Bloomfield on Feb. 10.
Against Royal Oak the Wolves won seven of the 12 events. Top finisher for the Wolves was sophomore Josh Badgerow who won the 50 free; 100 butterfly; 200 free relay teamed with juniors Ryan Kurrle, Mike Nelson and John Wilson; and 200 medley relay with Nelson, freshmen Greg Dedow and Kurrle.
Junior Jim Peers won the 200 and 500 free. Nelson added first place in the 100 breaststroke to his relay accomplishments. Freshmen Phil Voorheis won the 200 IM.
West Bloomfield, one of the better programs in the league, was a different story as only Badgerow won an event for the Wolves ? the 100 butterfly.
The Wolves will now rest up and practice for the OAA league tournament which runs Feb. 23-25. Clarkston went 3-8 in the regular season this year.
