Oakland County sheriff deputies are investigating a strong-arm robbery reported on Jan. 7 at a residence on Pine Knob Lane.
The victim, reportedly a key witness in a domestic assault case against her ex-boyfriend, said she was visited by a woman identified as a friend of the defendant.
After hearing the woman honking her horn in the driveway, the victim went outside to find her in the company of two other men. She said the men could not enter the home, but the resident allowed the other woman to do so.
After entering the home, the woman allegedly hit her in the head, knocking her to ground. During that struggle, the two men entered the home and grabbed the victim’s purse from a countertop.
The three suspects then fled the home and drove away.
Another deputy recognized the suspect’s nickname and was able to obtain identifying information. The case has been turned over to the Independence Township substation detective bureau.
