Parade lights up Main Street and faces with holiday cheer

The Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Heart of Clarkston Lighted Parade turned the downtown area into a twinkling winter wonderland.
Area residents ooohed and aaahed as their senses were tantilized by the sights and sounds of 48 fantastic parade entries on Dec. 11. Free hot chocolate and plenty of goodies chased away the chilly wind and sputter of snow for those enjoying the event.
Every year the Clarkston Lighted Parade presents four top awards to participants:
? The Main Street Award, sponsored by Smith’s Disposal, went to Finch’s Custom Cycles of Pontiac.
? The Church Street Award, sponsored by Hubbell, Roth and Clark, went to the Knights of Columbus.
? The Washington Street Award, sponsored by Sunrise Assisted Living, went to the Clarkston Eagles.
? And the Chamber Award, sponsored by the Law Offices of Robert and Kelley Kostin, went to Cub Scout Pack #126, affiliated with Clarkston Elementary School and Clarkston United Methodist Church.
‘It was great evening,? said Terri Bendes, event enthusiast/planner. ‘Everyone had a wonderful time.?
