Driver under influence of pain meds

Atlas Twp. ? Blood tests are expected to confirm that a driver who appeared drunk was under the influence of prescription medication.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Department Paramedic Jason Erbe stopped a 45-year-old Grand Blanc man on Vassar Road who had been erratically driving a 1991 Chevrolet Corsica.
‘He appeared to be under the influence (of alcohol),? said Detective Sgt. Joe Parks, commander of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Atlas Township Precinct.
According to police reports, the driver’s speech was slurred and pupils were abnormal.
The paramedic found two pill vials in the vehicle containing Lortab, a habit-forming pain reliever, and Flexeril, a muscle relaxer.
After having blood drawn at Hurley Medical Center for analysis at the Michigan State Police Crime Lab in Bridgeport, the man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs.
