Goodrich – A Hegel Road sink hole proved a headache this week for village officials.
Village administrator Jakki Sidge noticed a 3-foot diameter sinkhole at western Hegel Road near the village limits early Monday evening.
A newly-installed gas line and water line for nearby construction limited backhoe work. Workers used shovels to dig.
By Tuesday the spot had been cold-patched with gravel, and barricades removed.
Sidge expected by the weekend that a camera will have been inserted at a sewer clean-out access point’located between a house on the south side and the road’to check for any leaks that may have caused the sinkhole.
