Ribbon-cutting at new fire station

Officials from the Addison Township Board, Leonard Village Council, Addison Fire Board (left) and members of the fire department (above) performed ribbon-cutting ceremonies Aug. 5 for the community’s new Fire Station #1.
The new 12,000-square-foot station is located in the southern portion of Leonard at 4026 Forest. An Advanced Life Support ambulance, engine, tanker, off-road brush unit and medium duty rescue truck are housed at the new station, which will feature 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week staffing.
A formal dedication ceremony for the station will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 during the department’s open house for Fire Prevention Week.
