Salswedel honored for 33 years on village ZBA

The Oxford Village Council April 13 adopted the following resolution honoring resident Duane Salswedel’s 33 years of service on the village’s Zoning Board of Appeals, from which he resigned in March. Council’s resolution states:
WHEREAS, in 1971 Duane Salswedel was appointed to the Village of Oxford Zoning Board of Appeals, and
WHEREAS, during Duan’s tenure on the Zoning Board he served twenty-eight years as the Chairperson of the ZBA, and
WHEREAS, Duane has been instrumental in upholding the values, intent, and integirty of both the Village of Oxford Master Plan and the Village of Oxford Zoning Ordinances.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the Village of Oxford wishes to thank Duane Salswedel for his thirty-three years of service to the Zoning Board of Appeals, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Oxford Village Council recognizes the countless hours of dedicated service that Duane has devoted to the community, and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that on behalf of the residents of the Village of Oxford, the Oxford Village Council wishes to acknowledge the professionalism, fairness and precision, as well as the continuity, that Duane Salswedel has shown during his leadership of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
‘He’ll never know how much this village appreciates everything that he’s done for it over the years,? said Councilman Steve Allen. ‘And I mean that. We do appreciate it. Thank you very much.?
Councilman Dave Bailey said the position of ZBA chairman is one of responsibility, authority and sensitivity.
‘Duane has done a great job in all three of those categories,? Bailey said.
Village President Renee Donovan said it has been ‘a privilege to work with? Salswedel. She noted that Salswedel’s 33 years is ‘a long time and a very large commitment.?
