Richard J. Sorgi, Sr., 89

Richard J. Sorgi, Sr. of Pontiac, formerly of Lake Orion passed away on April 15, 2025. He was 89 years old.

Richard is the loving father of Richard (Patti) Sorgi, Jr., John Sorgi, Angela Sorgi and Linda Gunthner; loving grandfather of Cristina, Rich III, Johnella, Erin, Evan, Dominique and Carnell; loving great-grandfather of Kamari, Richard IV, Faith Ann, Evalise, Vincent, Jeremiah, Jordan, Kamyah, Juelz and Bella; and dear brother of Angelo Sorgi.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Jenni Sorgi; his brother Joseph Sorgi; and his sister Loretta Torres. Rich was a veteran of the US Army. For many years he owned and operated his tile and marble business in and around Lake Orion. Rich was an avid watcher of sporting events, especially baseball and football. He also really enjoyed spending time at his cottage up north being outdoors and hunting.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
