Gregory Marcks, 81

Gregory Marcks of Lake Orion, Michigan, passed away on Dec. 1, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on Jan. 2, 1943, in Neptune, New Jersey to Karl and Elsey Marcks.
Gregg was a proud United States Navy veteran, serving from 1960 to 1964. He worked as a military police officer on land and as a machinist mate and fireman aboard the USS Chilton. After his service, he attended Oakland Community College and became a master mechanic.
Throughout his career, Gregg held many roles, including fleet supervisor for the Birmingham School District and mechanic for the Pontiac School District. After retirement he spent 16 years working for Oakland County Parks at Orion Oaks Dog Park. He was co-owner of two businesses, M & N Insulation and GM Landscaping. His family lived in Florida for a time, where he worked at a water treatment plant.
In 1961, Gregg married the love of his life, Patricia Marcks. They shared 57 wonderful years together before her passing on July 4, 2018. Gregg had a love for the outdoors, especially fishing and landscaping. He enjoyed visiting casinos, listening to music, and giving back to his community. He was a dedicated Boy Scout leader and actively involved in the Lake Orion High School marching band boosters.
He is survived by his children, Desiree Stanfield, Greg (Leigh) Marcks, and Mike (Mary) Marcks; his grandchildren, Rylee Stanfield, Wyatt and Austin Marcks, Finn, Drew, and Kaylee Marcks. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia; his parents, Karl and Elsey; and his siblings, twin sister Gloria, Ann Marie, Helen, John, Karl, and Ludwig.
Gregg will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and love of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
