Wolves shut out Southfield

It’s 3-0 for the Clarkston Wolves varsity football team, after 14-0 shutout of Southfield on Friday, Sept. 12.
Nick Blackstone scored both rushing touchdowns, the first on the team’s first possession of the game and the second with less than two minutes remaining in the game.
In between, it was a defensive battle on the home field, and head coach Kurt Richardson said his defense did a good job against a frequently threatening Blue Jay offense.
“They were in our end the whole time,” Richardson said, giving special credit to Addison Turk and Brendan Quisenberry for their performances.
After three games, the team is healthy for the most part, but two starting linemen were out with injuries as of Monday. Richardson was not sure how long they would be on the bench.
The Wolves will host Rochester (1-2) on Friday, Sept. 19. Richardson said the Falcons run similar plays to Clarkston on both offense and defense.
“It should be an easy game to prepare for,” the coach said, but there is work to do. “We’ve got to get our passing game going and get more consistent on our offense.”
