unior Rawley Hallman reached for the football and intercepted Royal Oak’s pass in the final quarter.
Hallman started from the 1-yard line in the Wolves? territory and ran towards the other end of the field avoiding Ravens? defense and keeping close to the edge of the field.
He finished his 99-yard run with Clarkston’s final touchdown for the night, giving the boys their sixth win, 55-7.
‘It went by in a blur,? he said after the game finished and his teammates continued to congratulate him. ‘I just kept running and wanted to score as fast as I could.?
Wolves Head Football Coach Kurt Richardson smiled after the game.
‘It was a nice win,? he said. ‘All the kids had fun and everybody got to play. Rawley’s touchdown at the end was great. Jorge Garcia, a kid who plays the scout team for us all the time, did a great job tonight. It was nice to see those kids have success.?
The boys started the momentum right at the beginning. The Ravens had possession of the ball but defense kept them down to six yards before the Wolves took possession.
‘We just came out from the get-go and got things done,? said Hallman. ‘This game proved we were good and we didn’t take any steps back.?
Quarterback Tyler Scarlett threw the ball to Chris Canada for a 49-yard pass play with 9:49 remaining in the quarter.
Dakota Bender was the next to score eight minutes later, landing in the end zone and finishing 41 yards in three plays.
The Wolves scored three more touchdowns before the half concluded, 34-0.
The touchdowns came from an interception by John Marcks, and runs by Bender and Canada.
P.J. Lannon grabbed the kick-off at the start of the last half and was stopped on Clarkston’s 33-yard line. Scarlett handed the ball to Gamble, who scored putting the running clock in motion.
Bender put on more touchdown on the board. He broke through Royal Oak’s defense blocks and ran 79 yards to score with 4:23 remaining in the third quarter.
‘We came out hard,? said Hallman. ‘We knew they weren’t the best team in the league, but we couldn’t underestimate them.?
Richardson saw good things during the game and said the boys took advantage of Royal Oak’s mistakes.
‘We were a little sloppy early,? he pointed out for what the boys will work on this week. ‘We dropped the ball a few times. I don’t care what the score is, you have to take care of the football.”
Kicker Brian Benway was 4-5 in PATs and Gracia was 3-3. The win clinched the Wolves? District playoff spot and kept them tied for the lead in the OAA Red with Lake Orion. The Wolves take on Oak Park (4-2) this Friday for Homecoming.
‘Oak Park is a good football team,? said Richardson. ‘There are some things we need to work on. We need to get our passing game going. We have to make it a little stronger.?
Kickoff is set for 6:55 p.m.
‘We will keep striving until the end of the season,? said Hallman.

JV beat the Ravens 35-12 and the freshman team won 28-0. They travel to Oak Park on Thursday.
