Visioning Angel Wings

One of my favorite statues is that of an angel. When one comes into my sight, they are a vision of openness, caring, loving, selflessness, kindness and representative of all that is good.

Angels are mentioned many times as messengers in the bible and they are always there in times of need and to show the way. In the song, “Angels Among Us,” the music group Alabama expresses many ideas on how to know when angels are around us, stating:

“They come to you and me in our darkest hour. To show us how to live, teach us how to give, to guide us with the light of love.”

It’s a beautiful song, combined with a beautiful melody, which provides an innate feeling of what an angel’s purpose is.

Spiritually speaking, I believe that angels come into our lives often, not only in our darkest hour. Angels bring us good thoughts and their whole angelic representation is that of goodness. With a guiding presence they teach us how to be in this world. They always have a vision of us living our highest and best good and watch over us or hold in prayer that we align to all that is good.

Angels have no specific denomination and, therefore, there is no energy around them except that they are messengers of God. You cannot see an angel or angel wings without the underlying message of the existence of a God. And that message of God, a Higher Power greater than us, is okay.

It is a God not defined or explained, without detail or restriction.

Knowing about angels, their words and actions encourage us to live our lives more spiritually. With a simple nudge they can give a full understanding of what God wants them to teach us.

When we open our hearts and minds up to hearing, learning and doing good things, our lives change, becoming better. You will not physically see an angel with wings helping you. But, in the future during one of those times when you are over the trouble and you feel like you didn’t do anything to make something work, meditate on where an angel may have played a part. Perhaps an angel came in as another person to help you; perhaps they created something for you or perhaps they just sat and listened to you.

If I were going to place angels in an order of importance, it would look like this: God, Jesus, angels and then you and I.

They are not meant to be worshipped; they didn’t have their own church, practice a specific religion or live in a specific area of the world. In the bible you will find most references of angels delivering messages of certainty, hope and peace to others.

I like angel wings and the bigger the better.

As the construction started on Baldwin Road, I learned there would be sidewalks with little park areas and some park benches available for people who were walking to rest. I began visioning there would be a park bench out in front of Unity Church of Lake Orion.

Visioning is very much like manifesting your desires. It is used when you find something that you would really like to add to your life or the life of others, but cannot figure out how to make it work.

Hint on visioning: In visioning, you do not make it happen. As you hold the vision in your consciousness, you think about what it would be like to have it. Add positive thoughts about your vision, i.e., what it would look like, what it would feel like, what positive impact it would have. Simply allow the thoughts to be in your consciousness. Add the understanding, that whatever is going to be a positive addition to your life manifests, with little or no work from you. In essence, you leave all the details open-ended so the best possible good always flows right to you.

Along with the park bench, I thought it would be great to have angel wings on a board where the community would have fun stopping to take their photo. The angel wings manifested to reality for Unity was not to have the wings out by the road.

Our best possible good directed us to the artist who created our angel wings for us. The overhang on our building provides extra protection for them. Today you will find them as a free “photo op” for you to enjoy — the are hung at our side door entry. They are lovely!

Genesis 28:12 (ESV) – “And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!”

Take your photo and enjoy a little piece of angelic heavenly light!

Many blessings of God’s goodness,
