Top sophomores head to leadership conference

Congratulations to two Oxford High School sophomores, Nick Hadorn and Theresaann Toth, for being nominated to attend the Michigan Youth Leadership (MYLead) Conference at Michigan State University this spring.
The students were voted as the top two sophomores in the school by the entire OHS staff. ‘I’m honored to be able to represent the school,? Toth, 16, said.
Toth is no stranger to being a leader, though. She is on her second term as vice president for the Class of 2010.
‘I’m glad that I’m looked upon as a leader,? she said humbly. ‘I can only do my best, but it’s nice to know that my best is considered leadership.?
Hadorn, also 16, said ‘it feels good? to know he’s considered one of the top sophomores in his class and that he’s ‘excited? to attend the conference.
The Oxford Lion’s Club will sponsor each of the students to take the trip.
Leadership skill enhancement, critical thinking development, creative problem-solving and positive peer interaction are some of the topics Hadorn and Toth will learn about while at the conference May 16-18.
The MYLead program includes motivational speakers, panel discussions, debates, team-building exercises and personal goal setting.
