It wasn’t the typical holiday celebration, but 2020 isn’t a typical year.

Students in Cindy Winther’s preschool classes got a visit from “Cindy Claus” before the holiday break. They each got to sit next to her and tell her what they want for Christmas before a ride up to the North Pole, Winther said.

The kids ususally collect — like warm winter socks — and put them on the place settings for the Lake Orion United Methodist Church’s free Monday commmunity meals.

However, the community meals are on hiatus, so “Cindy Claus” stuffed stockings with a stuffed animal and treats for the kids. – J.N.
