Student art featured at Orion Art Center

Students from all ages and all art mediums will have their work featured at the Orion Art Center’s 6th Annual Student Exhibit, open now through March 1.
From watercolors, to sketches to multi-dimensional pieces, a variety of artwork will be on display.
‘It is fun to see the work of a kindergartener next to a high school senior,? said Cindy Wheeler, Oxford resident and program coordinator for the OAC. ‘It makes the young artists feel like their art is really special.?
Students from Lakeville Elementary who will be featured include Cody Gipson, Devin Boury, Grace Cleland, Jennifer Brasington, Kaitlyn Gugins, Kyle Smigelski, and Michaelia Wilson.
Art from students at Leonard Elementary include Alexis Pincher, David Martin,Elliot Liverance, Erika Cooley, Garrett Stuk, Jeffrey Plonkey, Logan Collier, Miranda Tincher and Olivia Gilmore.
Oxford Elementary also submitted student artwork from Devon King, Mckenna Dewolf, Nicholas Gwisdalla, Skye Kennedy and Sydney Stewart, while Monica Heirman was the only artist from Clear Lake Elementary to submit an item.
Diana Ostrand, owner of the Lake Orion Accent on Art framing store, donated her time and matting material to make the student artwork shine.
The center will be open for special hours for the exhibit. They are Tue.-Fri. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wed. from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. and Sat. 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
