It’s that time of year — this Friday, shoppers will hit the road looking to secure some deals like none other.

As the Black Friday madness dies down, Saturday will offer another incentive for shoppers.

During Small Business Saturday, customers can shop at participating businesses on Nov. 30 in Oakland County; just remember to save your receipt. Then text “ShopTextWin” to 41411 and you will receive a link to the registration page. Follow the instructions and be sure to submit your receipts by Dec. 3 for your chance to win up to $5,000.

The Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority will also be getting in on the action with a table set up in front of Hanson’s Running Shop from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., passing out shopping bags with coupons and other fun things for those participating in Small Business Saturday.
