Ortonville-The village has a new jewel in town.
Sherry Lynn’s Jewelry Box, 431 Mill St., opened in June in the same location where D.L. Bonner Jewelers had been in business for almost 30 years.
‘We offer the new and the old,? said Sherry Johns, owner. ‘From new jewelry to antique and vintage jewelry, watches and coins, we offer an assortment of collectibles to meet a variety of interests and tastes.?
Unique at Sherry Lynn’s Jewelry Box are a selection of railroad watches which still adhere to the General Railroad Timepiece Standards, featuring a minimum of 17 jewels, keeping time accurately to within a gain or loss of only 30 seconds per week and adjusted to temperatures of 34 to 100 degrees fahrenheit. For something newer, Sherry Lynn’s Jewelry Box offers a complete line of Chamilia Beads, with precious metals and stones for endless variations and combinations.
From diamonds to gems to rings in addition to pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and watches, Sherry Lynn’s Jewelry Box provides a selection for every occasion.
‘We have a trained jeweler on staff for repairs to watches and jewelry,? she said. ‘If you’re looking to buy or sell silver or gold coins, we can assist, too. Stop by the store and we’d be happy to make an offer.?
A Flint native, Johns has many years of experience in the jewelry industry.
‘I understand that your purchase of a watch or wedding ring is a big investment,? she said. ‘We’re here to provide just the right piece of jewelry that will last a lifetime.
