Scrapbook camp at fairgrounds

The Camp Scrap Lock-in spring event begins next week and still has spots open, March 12-15.
“It’s continuous around the clock scrapbooking event at the fairgrounds,” said Terri Burnett, Vice President of the Oakland County Fair Association.
She added even though it is called a scrapbooking event it is also a place for women to sew, knit, crochet or work on their craft creations.
“We’ve had a lot of people do artsy, craftsy things off of Pinterest,” Burtnett explained. It is just a great time where you are socializing with other women. You leave all the home worries and work worries behind and relax and work on your project.”
They will also have scrapbook stores and vendors at the event in case anything is forgotten at home.
Vendors include Creative Memories, Simply Stitched, Picture Perfect, Moonbeam Massage from Clarkston, Discovery Toys, Thirty-One, Pampered Chef. Candy Spiegel will also be there. She is a scrapbook supplier and teaches mosaic scrapbooking.
The Camp Scrap Lock-In will also have raffles since it is one of the main fundraisers for the Oakland County Fair.
Some of the raffle items an adhesive basket which is filled with all kinds of adhesive, Cricut cutting machines, magnetic easel, knife sets, vacation to Florida and more
“We are doing the drawing on Saturday,” Burnett said. “For the public, who has not registered for the event, can come Friday after 6 p.m. through Saturday at 6 p.m. to shop the onsite scrapbook vendors or to participate in the silent auction.”
Burnett explained money raised helps pay for the premiums they offer Oakland County youth when they showcase their achievements which can be anything from rabbits to a technology program someone wrote out.
