The Oxford Area Girl Scouts took a special trip around the world Thursday night at their annual International Night at Oxford Middle School.
With their trusty passports in hand, the girls visited countries like France, Australia, China and Poland, just to name a few. Each group chose a country to represent and had to learn how to say ‘hello,? ‘goodbye,? ‘please? and ‘thankyou? in the language of the country.
For a dime, the girls could taste samples of food from that specific country, like Papaya fruit from Australia, egg rolls from Japan and cheese from France.
International Night is held in honor of ‘Thinking Day,? which represents friendship and world peace and is celebrated by Girl Scouts all over the world.
At the end of the evening, the Girl Scouts got together to exchange ‘swaps,? which show something special about them and where they’re from.
