What was Saturn North is now Saturn of Clarkston. Along with the new name are a new look for the Springfield Township facility and new models from which to choose.
What has not changed is Saturn’s philosophy of keeping customers in low stress mode.
‘We still operate in a no-hassle, no-haggle environment,? said retail manager Rick Clift. ‘We want people to be comfortable.?
Clift, who has been in the auto business for more than 20 years and at Saturn of Clarkston for two years, said the interior colors and casual decor were deliberately chosen to promote a distinctive experience for their guests.
Saturn of Clarkston is part of the Al Serra Auto Group, which has a strong reputation in ethics an integrity.
Some of the terminology illustrates the difference. Saturn of Clarkston is a facility, not a dealership. People who walk in the door are guests, not customers, and the guests are never required to negotiate a price.
While maintaining the distinctives, Saturn is now a completely integrated division of General Motors, taking advantage of common advances in technology and design.
Already available is the new Saturn RELAY seven-passenger sport van, which Clift described as a joint venture with other GM products.
‘Saturn is combining great quality and value,? Clift said.
At the North American International Auto Show, meanwhile, Saturn introduced their first convertible, the SKY, scheduled to be available in early 2006; and the Aura concept car.
Saturn of Clarkston continues to rack up awards, with one of the most recent coming from Saturn Corporation for exceeding standards in both sales and customer satisfaction in 2004.
The Dixie Highway facility was built around 1990, and the interior renovation was accompanied by an expanded parking lot, adding space for about 400 new vehicles.
Saturn of Clarkston has a stable sales staff who are committed to supporting the community. The local business participates in the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce and supports the American Red Cross, National Donor Day, local sports teams and Clarkston’s Concerts in the Park.
