Robotics team competes off-season

The Oxford High School Robotics Team kicked-off their off-season competitions on Sept. 22 at Kettering University in Flint.
Seventeen team members competed with their robot in three different rounds. They won one event and lost three.
They worked this summer on creating a new arm for their robot, which is what they used predominately during competition to score points. Now, they are working on different drive trains and wheels for their machine.
Building a robot isn’t easy, or cheap, so that’s why the team is very thankful to Oxford resident, Roy Bliss, for donating a hand-grinder, table grinder and several miscellaneous hand tools and scrap aluminum.
The Robocats will hit the floor for their first competition next March.
