Troy Mustangs had a 3-0 lead against Clarkston Riverdawgs 10U, going into the bottom of the second inning, June 18.
When the ‘Dawgs came up to bat, the first four tied the score. By the time the inning was over, their teammates had added eight more.
‘They all really work very hard. They love baseball. They controled all of their hits. They are really good kids,? said Coach John Kuczmanski.
The boys scored nine more runs in the third inning, and the game ended in the fourth, 20-4.
‘They played good,? Kuczmanski said. ‘We tried pitchers that normally don’t pitch and they did a very good job.
Joe Vyskocil hit a triple and a double; Peter Turk hit a triple; Ben Snider, Collin Lynch, Luke Shilling, and Anthony Reiner hit doubles.
Shilling brought three batters home on his double and Reiner brought in two.
Matt Bur, Brent Farrugia, Jacob DePillo, Brandon White, Jack Kuczmanski, Snider, Vyskocil, and Turk had one RBI.
The team is first in the league, getting the boys close to one of their goals – to win their league.
The ‘Dawgs have five league games before heading to a tournament, July 4 weekend. Their current league record is 17-1 with an overall record 30-3.
The boys? next game is on the road against the Motor City Hit Dogs at Cranbrook on Thursday. They will host the Oxford Wildcats on Saturday at Clintonwood Park at 5 p.m.
They will play a double header against the Oakland Whitecaps on Sunday at Freehan Whitecap Field in Waterford.
The first game begins at 1 p.m.
