Register for 5k, Family Fun Run at Friendship Park

On Saturday, May 2 at 8 a.m, Young Life Lake Orion will host both a 5k race as well as a 1 mile Family Fun Run. As their biggest fundraiser for the organization,

This event will take place at Friendship Park and will consist of two routes with different levels of difficulty. One will lead runners through adventurous trails, while the other will be more suitable for those using strollers and wheelchairs.

Alley Otto, a freshman at Lake Orion High School, works on an event announcement for the March 18 issue of The Lake Orion Review. Alley, who wants to be a writer/journalist, visited The Review office on March 12 as part of a job shadow requirement for her Career Foundations class. Alley runs track and likes to listen to music, write and hang out with friends and family.

Early registration (now through April 20) cost $25 for the 5k with the T-shirt included, and $10 for the one-mile fun run, T-shirt not included.

Late registration, after April 20 through race day, costs $30 for the 5k and $15 for the fun run. T-shirts are not guaranteed.

Young Life is a non-profit organization for adolescents to learn the values of adventure and friendship, along with being introduced to the importance of faith.
