When Grand Blanc businessman Randy Wise announced the purchase of the long time local Ford dealership located at 968 Ortonville Road last November he was optimistic the first few months would be strong.
His optimism was right.
‘The traffic and location on M-15 was very attractive,? says Wise, who also owns dealerships in both Flint and Fenton. ‘Ortonville is a good place to do business in’we plan on expanding our service and taking great care of our customers.?
Plans for the dealership, says Wise include razing the current 5,000 square-foot facility and construction of a 16,000 square-foot showroom and service area. The on-site auto selection will also increase substantially, says Wise.
Randy Wise Ford of Ortonville general manager Tom Shannon, says that expanding the inventory is just the beginning of growth plans for the dealership.
‘Our market is very large,? says Shannon. ‘Customers come in from all around for not only our selection but also the great service we offer. It comes from the heart. We believe in our customers and strive to take care of their needs.?
A supporter of local schools and charities, Randy Wise Ford gives back in a variety ways to the community.
For example, this spring area Wise Ford dealerships will host a used prom dress and formal wear swap. Last year more than 10,000 stuffed animals where collected for children’s Easter baskets. More activities are planned for this year, says Shannon.
‘We’re community minded and will continue to support this area in many ways. You’re going to be treated right here at Randy Wise Ford. While it may be a chore to buy a car, it’s easy here.?
Such accolades are reflected in the founding of the company by Randy Wise.
A Waterford Township native, Wise experience in the automobile business spans more than 34 years starting in 1970 when Wise joined with long time Flint auto dealer Al Serra Chevrolet group. Wise served in a variety of auto related positions including management team president.
‘The retail automobile business is great,? said Wise, after opening Randy Wise Ford in Ortonville his fourth dealership. ‘Everyday it’s different meeting our customers driving and service needs.?
Wise opened Randy Wise Chevrolet, G-5100 Clio Road, Flint, formerly Summerfield Chevrolet in 1989. In 2001 Wise purchased the Genesee Valley Auto Mall, Lincoln Mercury and Hyundai, 4350 Lennon Road, Flint. In April 2004 he opened Randy Wise Buick GMC, Olds, 2530, Owen Road, Fenton formerly Martin Buick GMC Oldsmobile.
