Hitters faced rain during their Nathan Manuel Tournament on Saturday.
They took to the field in the afternoon and beat Pontiac Northern, 12-3.
‘We did okay, it was our first game on Saturday. We were a little rusty,? said coach Phil Price. ‘Matt Kamieniecki did a nice job pitching, but he struggled at his command a little bit. It was a pretty good game.?
Kamieniecki was the winning pitcher for the game.
Leading hitters were Kamieniecki, Tyler Scarlett, Nick Shamoun, Rob Sims and Alex Navarre.
Kamieniecki hit 2-for-3, hit triple and had four RBIs. Scarlett hit 2-for-3 and hit a triple. Navarre hit 2-for-3 and hit a double. Sims was 2-for-3 and Shamoun hit a double.
They went on to play Cranbrook. They were beating them in the third inning before the game was called on account of rain.
They lost against Troy on Wednesday, 5-1.
The team will keep busy this week with four games.
The week begins with Clarkston hosting a league game on Wednesday against West Bloomfield. They host Avondale on Thursday.
‘We have two tough games,? said Price. ‘Avondale is in our district and they beat us last year.?
They continue on Friday with a visit to Troy.
On Monday, they host Royal Oak.
All home games begin at 4 p.m. The game on Friday begins at 4:30 p.m.
The boys overall record is 13-4.
