Icy roads lead to collision, citation for the driver responsible

Lake Orion police responded to a traffic crash near S. Broadway Street (M-24) and Atwater Street at 4:46 a.m. Feb. 22.

A vehicle lost control on the slippery roads and struck another vehicle, causing that vehicle to strike and damage the crosswalk activation post.

There were no injuries reported.

The driver who lost control of their vehicle was issued a citation.

Fight breaks out in bar parking lot

A man was injured in a late-night altercation at a local bar.

Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of Oakridge Court at 12:34 a.m. Feb. 24 for an assault complaint.

A resident reported he was leaving a local bar on Baldwin Road with a friend at 11:30 p.m. and became involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical with two other unknown individuals.

The victim suffered a laceration to the forehead, but declined to pursue charges against the suspect.

Traffic stop leads to arrest for a man with multiple warrants

A man may have thought he was only getting a traffic ticket, but when deputies discovered he had multiple arrest warrants the man got a trip to jail instead.

A deputy on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on Lapeer Road near Clarkston Road at 11:25 p.m. Feb. 24 and identified the driver of the vehicle as a 36-year-old man who did not have valid insurance.

The man was also found to have three arrest warrants issued from the court for Domestic Assault, Mail Theft, and Child support.

The man was arrested on his warrants and lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending arraignment.

Car impounded, men get citations for open intox., suspended license

Two men had a long walk home after the driver’s vehicle was impounded based on multiple violations.

Deputies on routine patrol watched a vehicle disregard a stop sign on Giddings Road near Brown Road at 12:09 a.m. Feb. 25 and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Upon investigating, deputies learned that the driver did not have a valid license due to a court ordered suspension.

The male passenger in the vehicle was also seen to be in possession of open alcohol intoxicants, a bottle of Hennessy whiskey.

The vehicle was impounded at the scene. The 33-year-old driver was cited for suspended license, no insurance, improper plate and released at the scene.

The passenger was cited for consuming open intoxicants in a vehicle and safely released.

Teens harass, threaten twp. man

An 18-year-old Orion Township man went into the Orion Twp. Substation at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 26 to report he was being threatened and harassed.

The victim reported he was being threatened on social media by three suspects, who also posted a video driving by the victim’s house and harassing him at work and school.

Deputies interviewed other eyewitnesses at the scene who corroborated the victim’s statements.

After investigating, deputies identified the suspects as three 17-year-old males. The suspects were all cited for disorderly conduct (threats) and released with a date to appear in court.

Woman arrested after threatening roommates with a hammer

An Orion Township woman is out of a home, money and friends after threatening them with a hammer.

Deputies responded to a 911 call at the 1400 block of Harding at 7:14 p.m. Feb. 26 for Domestic Assault.

Responding deputies were met in the driveway by two residents, who reported a third roommate was threatening to attack them with a hammer and was actively hitting the hammer around the house.

The victims reported their 36-year-old female roommate was in the home. When deputies entered the home and located the suspect, she refused to answer any questions.

Evidence at the scene corroborated the victim’s statements and deputies took possession of the hammer and placed it into evidence.

The woman was arrested for domestic assault and lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending prosecutor review.

The suspect was arraigned on three counts of Domestic Violence, given a $2,500 bond with 10 percent surety and was ordered not to have contact with the victims nor return to the residence.

Man has his drunk, disorderly grandfather arrested

Deputies responded to a 911 call at the 700 block of Buckhorn at 11:07 p.m. Feb. 27 for Domestic Assault.

Responding deputies were met in the driveway by the caller, an 18-year-old resident who reported that his grandfather was intoxicated and came into his room and grabbed him by the shoulders and pulled him out of his chair.

The victim told his grandfather to leave the room, and that’s when the older man allegedly pushed his wife.

Based on the victim’s statements and the evidence, the grandfather was arrested for domestic assault and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

The man was then formally charged with Domestic Assault.

Man assaults girlfriend, breaks her phone and then flees

An Orion Township man has a criminal complaint pending against him after a dispute turned physical.

Deputies responded to a 911 call in the 3300 block of Beech Road for a domestic assault at 3:58 a.m. Feb. 28 after a man attacked his girlfriend.

Deputies located the victim, who told authorities that her boyfriend started arguing with her and then the dispute turned physical. The suspect attacked the victim with his hands, causing slight injury.

The woman was able to free herself and started calling 911 when the suspect grabbed her phone, causing it to break. The suspect then fled the scene. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate him.

All evidence was collected and turned over to the prosecutor’s office. The incident is under investigation and the criminal complaint is pending.
