Synopsis, Regular Meeting, Monday, August 21, 2017
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Invocation: Clerk Penny Shults. All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Supervisor delivered a proclamation in recognition of National Recovery Month.
Held Public Hearing for regarding the proposed roll for the Golfview Drive Road Maintenance Special Assessment District #1.
Heard Presentation from Ian Locke of Orion Neighborhood Television.
Heard update from Commissioner Painter of the Orion Community Cable Communications Commission.
Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $1,772,224.22, payrolls in the amount of $138,242.18, for a total disbursement of funds of $1,910,466.40.
Approved agenda, as amended. Approved consent agenda, as amended.
Approved Minutes, Regular Meeting, Monday, August 7, 2017.
Received and filed the 2nd quarter 2017 MMRMA report.
Approved the application to sell concessions, received from Chicago Brothers Pizza, in order to sell concessions at the LO Palooza event on September 9, 2017.
Approved the request to seek proposals for an emergency standby generator.
Authorized the purchase of a new air compressor for the Department of Public Works, at a cost not to exceed $24,750.00, from Cloverdale Equipment (participant in the MiDeal purchasing program).
Adopted the resolution and authorized the Supervisor to sign the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant Application for the Clarkston Regional Pathway (Phase 1B).
Approved the special permit under Ord. 76, Alcoholic Beverages Regulation, for the Friends of Camp Agawam/Tommy’s Lake to hold their annual Tommystock event on September
22 – 24, 2017, subject to receipt of appropriate proof of insurance and MLCC approval.
Approved the tuition reimbursement request of Conner Reitner, subject to the provisions of the Township’s tuition reimbursement policy.
Authorized the 2017 employee flu shot program.
Set date for the Truth-in-Budgeting Public Hearing, on the proposed millage rates to be levied for 2017 (in support of the 2018 budget), for 7:00 p.m. on September 18, 2017.
Appointed Trustee Flood to replace Trustee Birney on the Orion Veterans Memorial Committee.
Approved the contract with EWS II, LLC to demolish residence located at 95 Brown Rd. in the amount of $7,000 with funds from 247-958-975, and make necessary budget adjustments.
Authorized Dragon on the Lake to use the Township property located between the Fire Station and Art Center in the Village of Lake Orion for the Kid Zone – Dragon on the Lake.
Adopted Resolution confirming the assessment roll for the Golfview Drive Private Road Maintenance SAD #1.
Received and filed the Police/Fire update reports, as presented.
Held Closed Executive Session to discuss Pending Litigation.
