The Orion Township Fire Department responded to 143 calls for service from May 1-14, according to Fire Chief Robert Duke’s bi-weekly report to the township board of trustees.
Of those calls, 110 were medical runs, four were personal injury accidents, six were for fires (outdoor, structure or vehicle in nature), there was one burn complaint, nine “Citizen Assists” and 13 were classified as good intent/other.
On May 1 at approximately 6:44 pm, the fire department responded to an overdose.
At approximately 7:08 p.m. May 1 and 12:53 p.m. May 12 the fire department responded to an outdoor fire. There was a vehicle fire at 12:27 a.m. May 14
There was a commercial structure fire at 8:08 a.m. May 2. At 1:18 pm May4, the fire department responded to a gas leak.
There were requests under mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments to provide assistance at 6:10 p.m. May 7 and 7:02 p.m. May 10 and 2:55 p.m. May 11.
