A Lake Orion man’s body was recovered from a Tennessee lake last week after a drowning in Norris Lake, authorities said.
According to Ed Carter, Chief of Boating for the state of Tennessee, the Union County Rescue Squad, recovered the body of Timothy Michael Keenan, 47, in about 15-19 feet of water on July 8.
Keenan and some friends were staying the night on houseboats on Norris Lake, Carter said, and the group could not find Keenan the next morning.
According to Carter, the investigation is ongoing.
Keenan is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; loving daughter, Kelsey, and stepson, David Kourtjian; and parents, Elizabeth and Daniel.
He is also survived by his sisters, Melanie (Malcolm) Gander and Terry (Jack) Hyndman; brother, Daniel; mother-in-law, Patricia Marchione; father-in-law, Dennis (Betty) Sturm; sister and brother-in-laws, Dia and Phil Bouren and Melissa and Brian O’Neil; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Niki Sturm; nephews, Miles Gander, Jacob Sturm, Zachary Bouren, Nicholas Bouren and Brian O’Neil II; nieces, Madeleine Gander, Madisen O’Neil, Samantha Bouren, Grace Sturm and Sarah Elizabeth Sturm.
Keenan is also survived by many other family members and friends.
An active member of the Lake Orion Men’s Softball League for 13 years, he played on several competitive tournament teams, and earlier this month, hit a home run and three hits for his team.
A funeral was held July 14, from Christ the King Church in Oxford, with Pastor Bob Holt officiating. Interment Guardian Angel Cemetery, Oakland Township.
