New year, new events to help Darci

The new year not only means 2008, but also a variety of new fundraisers to benefit the Darci Seipke Benefit Fund.
On Jan. 19, a Bowling Extravaganza will be held from 1-4 p.m. The event will be held at Collier Lanes, in Oxford, and is $20 per person or $60 for a family of five. The fee includes two games of bowling and shoes.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, on Feb. 14 a Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance will be held at Canterbury Castle. The event, which starts at 6 p.m., will feature a buffet dinner, raffle and dancing. Tickets are $50 per person or $80 per couple.
For those that love scrapbooking, March 8 marks the date for the Scrapbooking Marathon, also held at Canterbury Castle. The marathon will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and costs $50 per person. The fee covers table space, buffet lunch, chicken plate dinner and soft drinks all day. Vendors will also be present, showcasing the latest scrapbooking accessories and merchandise.
Golfers need to mark April 28 on their calendar for the first annual golf outing at Indianwood Country Club. The event starts at 1 p.m. Cost to participate is $175 per individual golfer, $325 per Silver Golf package and $600 per Gold Golf package. The day will feature a four-man scramble and a chance to win a Jeep from Palace-Chrysler Jeep for a hole-in-one.
