Marilyn J. Simmons of Waterford passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2023.
She was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of 69 years to the late Bud Simmons; and the sister of the late Barbara (Mahncke) Driver.
She was the dear mother of Karen (the late, Ronald) Reynolds, Teri (Richard) Hockstad; and the loving grandmother of Shoshana Reynolds, Sierra Reynolds, Christopher Richardson and Jessica Richardson.
For many years, she was a self-employed bookkeeper and enjoyed working with numbers. Her winters were spent alongside her husband in Ft. Myers, Florida and she loved the short visits from her children and grandchildren. She loved walks on the beach and finding those rare shells along her way.
Marilyn was kind and generous and will be deeply missed by her family.
Her family will receive friends at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion on Jan. 26, 2023, between 4-7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Christian Memorial Cemetery on Jan. 27, 2023, at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cardinal Hospice of Oxford, Michigan.
