LOHS girls lacrosse has a 1-1-1 record after first three games

Lake Orion’s girls lacrosse team started their season two weeks ago, beginning with a rival match at home against Oxford High School on March 21.
The Wildcats led the Dragons throughout the entire hard-fought match, with Lake Orion losing the battle, 12-11.
Lake Orion’s Allison Romanski scored five goals for the Dragons, with Natalie Maki contributing two goals and two assists and Olivia Carroll, Erin McGraw, Erin Humes, and Sydney Myszenski all adding a goal each.
Lake Orion goalie Mikayla Osborne had nine saves for the game.
Coming off their first loss, the ladies headed to Huron High School for their first away match of the season on March 25.
The Dragons dominated the game and secured their first win by a score of 9-5.
Romanski scored three goals, Humes added two and Maki, Amelia Stevenson, Myszenski and Maddie McKiernan each contributed one goal a piece.
Largely contributing to the winning effort was Paige Lagerquist, who led the team with six ground ball pick ups.
Goalies Osborne and Paige Walker had five and eight saves, respectively.
On March 26, Lake Orion hosted another long-time Lady Dragon lacrosse rival, Notre Dame Preparatory.
It was an exciting match with both teams neck and neck throughout. The teams were tied 7-7 at the end of two halves and headed into overtime. After two three-minute overtime periods the score stood tied at 8-8.
Romanski again led in scoring with four goals and one assist. Ellie Baldwin and Humes had one goal and one assist each, and Stevenson and Myszenski each added anther goal as well.
The ladies are 1-1-1 overall and resume their season after spring break on April 10 against Stoney Creek High School. — M.K.
