Lake Orion High School’s girls basketball team is coming into the new year hot with a six-game winning streak and a 7-1 overall record heading into the second half of their regular season.
Before winter break, the ladies hosted Rochester Adams, defeating the Highlanders 45-30.
Junior Maddie Ebbert led the team with 12 points and four steals. Junior Chloe Wiegers also had four steals and contributed five points. Junior Taylor Dinda added four points and seven rebounds to the winning effort. Also scoring for the Dragons were Audrey Wischmeyer and Ryann Pawlaczyk with ten and five points respectively.
After the new year, the Dragons headed to Berkley High School on Jan. 4, defeating the Bears 49-35.
The ladies played tough defense and eight Lake Orion players added points to the win.
Junior Kylie Heck led the Dragons in scoring with 16 points while Pawlaczyk had 11.
On Friday, the Lady Dragons hosted North Farmington, demolishing the Raiders 46-22.
Heck led in scoring again with 15 points while Dinda added 10.
The Dragons are now 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the OAA White Division. They take on Bloomfield Hills on Tuesday night in the Dragon field house.
