Lake Orion’s varsity competitive cheer team traveled to Hartland on Saturday for the division one regional competition.
The ladies kept up the pace scoring a total of 467.44 in the first place position after two rounds.
In the third round the Dragons lost a little momentum scoring a 315.70 for a total of 783.14, which was good enough to claim the second place spot in the competition just behind Grand Blanc who scored a 785.82.
The second place finish is enough to get the girls a ticket to the division one state finals. The Dragons will take on Brighton, Grand Blanc, Hartland, Plymouth, Rochester, Rochester Adams and Utica Eisenhower on Friday at 6 p.m. at the DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids. — M.K.
