The Dragons picked up two important wins with strong performances against Utica Ford and Farmington high schools.
With the back-to-back victories Lake Orion is now 8-8 on the season, 1-4 in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) White division.
The wins could not come at a better time for the Dragons, who were on a six-game losing streak before beating Farmington High School, 62-46, on Thursday. Four of those Lake Orion losses were by only one or two points.
On Monday Lake Orion defeated Utica Ford, 54-43, on the road.
Lake Orion was scheduled to play at Bloomfield High School on Tuesday after Review press time. The Dragon’s next home game is 7 p.m. Friday against Birmingham Groves.
After the Groves game Lake Orion has four games left in the regular season with the final game beginning at 7 p.m. March 2 against Farmington.
Utica Ford
The Dragons extended their winning streak to two with a win on the road over Utica Ford High School 54-43, said head coach Jose Andrades.
“Leading the way for Lake Orion were senior Blake Liddell with 16 points, senior DJ Morrow (had) 15 points and sophomore Gabe Scott added with 10 points,” Andrades said.
Farmington High School
The Dragons earned an important road victory over Farmington High School, 62-46.
“Leading the way for Lake Orion were DJ Morrow with 26 points, Blake Liddell with 16 points and Nate Havrilla added nine points,” Andrades said.
Troy Athens
Lake Orion lost another contest at the buzzer, losing to Troy Athens 37-39.
