The Lake Orion boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Troy and defeated the Colts 63-48 to remain in first place in the OAA White with a 5-1 record. Lake Orion trailed Troy by two points, 24-22, at the half, but then LO took their offense to the next level by outscoring Troy 27-10 in the fourth quarter.
Junior DJ Morrow had another career night against the Colts, scoring 25 points. Senior Malachi Grandberry added 13 points and five assists; senior captain Alden Ritt contributed 11 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks; junior Blake Liddell chipped in nine points; junior Nate Havrilla had three points and rounding out the Dragon scoring was senior CJ Witt with two points.
The Dragons, whose record improves to 13-5 overall, close out the regular season next week with two league games at home: Tuesday after Review press time vs. Bloomfield Hills, and Thursday vs. Groves.
District play begins next week.
