LO falls to Falcons in overtime, 41-38

ORION TWP. — It’s been a busy week for the Lake Orion High School girls varsity basketball team with a hard fought victory over the Clarkston Wolves, as well as a tough loss at Little Caesars Arena to the Rochester Falcons.
On Friday, the ladies hosted Clarkston High School, a game that was sure to be interesting given the rivalry between the two schools.
The Dragons came out strong putting points up on the board right away.
The quick Lake Orion lead proved to be too much for the Wolves to overcome with the Dragons maintaining a strong lead throughout the entire game.
Leading scorers for the Dragons were senior captain Maddie Ebbert with 10 points and six rebounds, followed by another senior captain, Chloe Wiegers, with seven points.
Senior Audrey Wischmeyer had six points and six rebounds while senior captain Taylor Dinda had four points and eight rebounds.
Junior Ryann Pawlaczyk added another four points to the winning effort.
On Sunday, the ladies headed down to Detroit to take on Rochester High School at the Little Caesars Arena, falling to the Falcons 41-38 in overtime.
Ebbert led the team in scoring again with 13 points, six steals and four rebounds.
Wiegers and Pawlaczyk both added nine points. Wischmeyer added five points and Dinda contributed two points, five assists and five rebounds.
The Dragons head to Troy High School to take on the Colts on Tuesday in their final game before holiday break.
The team returns to the court on Jan. 5 at Southfield High School.
