Lady Dragons hit district competition out of the park

When you see a softball player this week, give her a smile for good luck for this Saturday’s regionals.
Lady Dragons are the district champions and are celebrating their 29-10 regular season. The girls took on Oxford rivals May 30 for their first of two district games. Pitcher Danielle Dunn led the team to a 3-0 victory over the Wildcats with no walks, five strikeouts and five hits.
Top hitters included Tessa Tomlin who went four for four and two RBI, Megan Smith who was two for four and one RBI and Shelby Phillips, who went one for three with one walk
Lady Dragons sealed the deal in game two of districts against Rochester. The girls beat them by a whopping 10-3.
Megan Dyer was the winning pitcher and led the team for five innings. She had three runs, no walks, four strikeouts and five hits. Dunn began the game for Dyer and let no runs, no walks, had one strikeout and no hits.
Tomlin hefted more points for the team, going three for four with one RBI. Smith went two for four and had two RBI.
Jenny Kasper went one for two and had one double. Lauren Farrington was two for three and three RBI. Paige Hamay was two for two and one RBI.
The girls will head to regionals June 6 and take on the Clarkston Wolves in the first game.
